“You’re off to Great Places!
Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting,
So… get on your way!”
― Dr. Seuss, Oh, The Places You’ll Go!
Parenting On Purpose is really about parenting with the end result in mind. It’s a constant awareness that the goal is inevitably to release our offspring into a purposeful adulthood.
By the time our kids graduate high school, they should have the skills to run a household, be a wise and responsible, contributing member of society, understand where they are called and have a detailed plan to get there and be ready to become a positive influence on their generation.
“To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all.”
~ Oscar Wilde
Throughout their childhood and adolescence, we are intentionally preparing our kids to become independent. Chances are good they’ll be married and have kids at some point, and we can do a lot to get them ready for that. But if they’re single, our young adults should leave our house equipped to run their own.
