What is Early Intervention and Is It Right for My Child?

early intervention

In this episode of POP Parenting with Jenni and Jody we are kicking off a series on Special Needs with a look at Early Intervention — what it is, when should you call, who should you contact, what should you say and what can you expect.

Early Intervention was established by the U.S. Congress as Part C of IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act). It is the Program for Infants and Toddlers with Disabilities, a federal grant program that assists states in operating a comprehensive statewide program of early intervention services for infants and toddlers with disabilities, from birth through the end of the child’s second year, and their families.
